Accusation of sexual abuse by psychotherapists

A mental health counselor at a Greenville, South Carolina school is accused of sexually abusing a juvenile, according to Greenville police. According to police, a juvenile reported on April 17 that he had been sexually abused by 42-year-old Christopher Haines. Police said they then discovered that Haines was responsible for the juvenile’s welfare. On Friday, Haines was arrested and charged with unlawful conduct with a child, third-degree sexual abuse of a minor, criminal solicitation of a minor and first-degree assault. Police said Haines is a mental health counselor employed by the South Carolina Department of Mental Health and is assigned to work at the West Greenville School. Police said the incident did not occur at the school.

Police said the incident did not occur at the school.
