Grand Haven Township: Multi-car accident and escape and evasive maneuvers are being investigated

(GRAND HAVEN TOWNSHIP) – The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a two-car crash and a hit and run incident Friday morning in Grand Haven Township.

According to police, shortly after 12:15 p.m., a 26-year-old man from Twin Lake was driving south on US-31 near Hayes Street.

An 18-year-old Grand Haven resident was driving east on Hayes when he stopped at a red light and was struck by the southbound car while attempting to cross the street.

There was also a passenger in each car, and all occupants had to be rescued from the wreckage.

According to police, the Twin Lake man ran away after being dragged from his vehicle, but was arrested after a short foot chase.

All other participants suffered minor injuries and were treated at local medical facilities.

No charges were filed.
