Chief Masse – Life-saving incident on Tuesday at Sully’s in Metropolis – WMOK Coffee Break

(WMOK) Metropolis, IL – Metropolis Police Chief Harry Masse saved a life Tuesday night while participating in his weekly pool league at Sully’s in Metropolis.

One of his teammates, who had recently undergone surgery and was sitting on the sidelines, suddenly stopped breathing and fell to the ground.

Chief Masse immediately jumped into action and performed CPR. A nurse was also on scene. The two of them handled the situation until the Massac County Ambulance and Metropolis Fire Department soon arrived and took over.

To the best of Chief Masse’s knowledge, the man’s condition was stabilized and he was transferred to a local cardiology unit for further treatment.

Chief Masse emphasized the importance of community members learning CPR because you never know when an emergency situation may arise that requires it.
