Investigations underway after man found shot in vehicle

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (WAFB) – Baton Rouge police are investigating after a man was found shot to death in his vehicle on Thursday, May 23, officials say.

Police identified the shooting victim as 26-year-old Dauntre Alvis.

According to authorities, the shooting occurred around 9:51 p.m. in the 11,000 block of North Harrells Ferry Road.

When investigators arrived, they found Alvis sitting in his vehicle with a gunshot wound.

Alvis was taken to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, police said.
