Motorcyclist killed in accident with semi-trailer near Goodyear

BUCKEYE, Arizona – A motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving a tractor-trailer in the West Valley early Friday morning, Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office officials said.

The accident occurred shortly after 4:30 a.m. near Baseline Road and Maricopa County Road 85 in Buckeye.

The motorcyclist died at the scene of the accident; no further injuries were reported.

Although the accident caused diesel to leak from the semi-trailer onto the road, hazardous materials teams were able to quickly contain the spill.

The cause of the crash is currently unknown.

Officials did not immediately disclose the identity of the motorcyclist.
