17-year-old arrested for bringing a semi-automatic weapon to a Brooklyn high school

The New York Police Department has confirmed that a 17-year-old was arrested for bringing a gun to school in Downtown Brooklyn.

According to police, the teenager walked through a metal detector at George Westinghouse Career and Technical Education High School on Thursday morning and discovered a 9-shot semi-automatic weapon.

The teenager now faces several charges, including illegal possession of a firearm and illegal possession of ammunition.
