“A lot of good things” came out of the suspension

CJ Moore thought he’d never get a second chance in the NFL after being suspended indefinitely for betting on football games. Now that he has one, he wants to make sure none of his young teammates gamble needlessly with their futures.

“If I hear anybody talking about it, like I said, I’m going to walk away,” Moore said Thursday in his first public comments since being suspended last spring. “But if I can help these guys and encourage them not to play at all, then that’s my word.”

Moore was one of five Detroit Lions players, along with Jameson Williams, Quintez Cephus, Stanley Berryhill and Demetrius Taylor, who were involved in a league-wide gambling investigation last April.
