UP: Man sentenced to 25 years in prison for raping minor girl, has to pay Rs 30,000 fine | Crime News

Ballia: A court in Ballia convicted an accused in a year-old case of raping a minor who had also shot a video of the act and uploaded it on social media. Sharing details on Friday, the prosecution said the accused, Vikas Pasi, was sentenced to 25 years in prison and fined Rs 30,000.

Details of the case

According to Ballia Police Commissioner Dev Ranjan Verma, Pasi is a resident of Hridaypur village in Uttar Pradesh. He was taken into custody after the minor lodged a complaint. Pasi has been booked under the relevant section of the Indian Penal Code, as well as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the IT Act.

After the investigation into the case was completed, the indictment against Pasi was filed with the court and proceedings were initiated against him.

Recently, another shocking incident occurred when a six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two boys in the district. According to police, the incident took place on March 7 in a village in Dubahar district. The victim’s family had filed a complaint with the police.

Although the police filed a complaint following a complaint by the girl’s father, the accused were minors. Two boys were charged under Section 376 D (gang rape) and sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act under the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Recently, a 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped by three accused in Bandepalya village of Tumakuru district of Karnataka. They were arrested by the police after the girl’s father filed a complaint.
