Middlesex OPP reported a man suffered serious injuries in a construction accident at a home in Lucan Biddulph around 10:45 a.m. on April 29. Neither police nor provincial officials released the man’s name, but an obituary identified him as Collin Mastorakos.

Mastorakos, who died a day after the incident, was considered a family-oriented adventurer whose love of travel and photography took him around the world, according to his obituary.

“From the rugged landscapes of Churchill, Man., where he embarked on a polar bear migration, to the ancient ruins of Greece, to the majestic wonders of the Great Wall of China and the terracotta warriors of China, Collin took every opportunity to immerse himself in new cultures and experiences “ says the obituary.

But it was family that meant the most to Mastorakos, according to the obituary, which said he worked in the construction industry with his brother Dylan.

Property records indicate that Mastorakos’ brother and sister-in-law own the house where the incident occurred. The couple purchased the one-story home in 2021.

On Monday, two work trucks were parked in front of the modern home on a country road.

Family and friends did not comment.

Mastorakos’ donated organs went to six people. A celebration of life was scheduled to be held Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lucan Biddulph Community Memorial Center and a funeral was planned for Wednesday.
