Man arrested after five-hour standoff with Battle Creek police | WKZO | Everything Kalamazoo

BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Battle Creek police arrested a man yesterday after a five-hour standoff during a mental health crisis.

Shortly before 3 p.m., officers were called to the home on Lathrop Avenue near Euclid Street and heard a gunshot coming from inside the home.

The man came outside, saw the police, went back inside and slammed the door.

He then allegedly fired several more shots at the house and through a window at the police, but no one was injured.

He surrendered around 8 p.m.
