Jersey City Police Respond to Shooting on Dales Avenue

Jersey City police arrested a male suspect who is believed to have fired several shots into a crowd on Thursday evening.

According to preliminary investigations, an off-duty police officer witnessed the suspect shooting in the area of ​​79 Dales Avenue shortly before 8:50 p.m.

Emergency responders accompanied the off-duty officer to the scene and cordoned off the area where the shots were fired. Although no victims were found at the scene, local hospitals were alerted to watch for any gunshot victims who happened to be passing by.

The motive for the shooting has not yet been determined; the investigation is currently being led by the Jersey City Police Department.
