One dead and four injured in a car crash on I-495 in Prince George’s County

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News now) – Officials said one person died and four others were injured in a car crash on the Capital Beltway’s outer loop Tuesday afternoon.

The Prince George’s County Fire and Rescue Department said crews were dispatched to Interstate 495 just before Interstate 95 for a single-vehicle accident shortly after 1 p.m

First responders initially said three victims had life-threatening injuries and the two victims had non-life-threatening injuries.

In a post shortly after 2 p.m., Maryland State Police (MSP) said one person had died.

MSP said the left two lanes were closed. The fire department expects delays.
