Accident in Pune: Contractor asked me to let his teenage son drive Porsche, driver tells police

The driver, who is employed by the family of the minor involved in the car accident, explained in a statement to police that the teenager insisted on getting behind the wheel and he had to call the father to inform him.

The minor’s father, a well-known construction worker, asked him to let the teenager drive the car, the driver told authorities.

On Thursday, the police also questioned the grandfather and the underage friend of the 17-year-old who drove a Porsche into a motorcycle in Kalyaninagar early Sunday morning, killing two people.

According to police, the accused teenager’s friend and the driver were accompanying him in the car when the fatal accident occurred.

In order to verify the statements of the driver, the grandfather and the underage friend, the officers had them sit together in a room and confirm the course of events.

The grandfather was also questioned about the license plate number of the Porsche Taycan electric luxury sports sedan and its ownership in the name of the real estate company.

The grandfather had guaranteed the 17-year-old’s bail on Sunday and assured the juvenile court that the minor would improve his behavior.
