Deadly double shooting in San Pedro under investigation – NBC Los Angeles

A double homicide is being investigated after two people were shot near an adult care facility in San Pedro on Thursday.

According to Los Angeles police, the fatal shooting was reported shortly before 4 p.m. near the intersection of Santa Cruz and Meyler Street. Police said they were alerted to “a few dead people” there.

One person died at the scene of the accident, the other succumbed to his injuries in a nearby hospital.

Authorities did not release the names of the dead, but said one victim was 19 and the other was 47.

Los Angeles police said witnesses reported seeing possible suspects drive away in a blue sedan. Further details about that vehicle or a description of the suspect were not immediately available. The police department did not disclose whether any arrests have been made in connection with the shootings or whether the shooter or shooters are still at large.

It is unclear what led to the violence.
