Sixth person arrested in investigation into fatal shooting

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A sixth person was arrested by police during an investigation into a fatal shooting.

28/22 News had previously reported on a shooting in Scranton in which, according to authorities, 32-year-old Robert Dawson was killed.

Scranton police announced Thursday that 50-year-old Bianca Mormolejo was taken into custody.

According to police, Mormolejo faces several charges, including hindering apprehension, making false statements to police and other related charges.

In the press release, authorities state that Mormolejo is accused by police of hindering law enforcement efforts to arrest 17-year-old shooting suspect Kenneth Tapia.

Mormolejo joins teenagers Kenneth Tapia and Keenan Ford and three juveniles ages 15, 16 and 17 who are facing charges in the investigation, police said.

Officials say Mormolejo is under investigation for the charges and is being held in the Lackawanna County Jail.
