Accident on Barry County Farm Road injures cyclist from the Netherlands – Newstalk KZRG

Two cyclists from the Netherlands were injured in an accident on Farm Road 2285, one mile southeast of Seligman in Barry County, Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when 31-year-old Ivar Niels and 43-year-old Thijs Sonneveld of the Netherlands were traveling westbound on the wrong side of the road.

One of the motorcycles was struck by an eastbound Chevy truck driven by Grant W. Garwood No. 35 of Joplin.

The second cyclist was then hit by a bicycle part.

Niels was seriously injured. He was taken to a hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

The other cyclist suffered minor injuries.

Garwood was uninjured.
