3 dead, including suspect, after standoff in Rancho Cordova

(FOX40.COM) – Three people are dead following a standoff in Rancho Cordova early Thursday morning, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said.

According to the sheriff’s office, officers responded to a home on Hartselle Way around 1:15 a.m.

At the apartment, officers saw a deceased woman lying in the doorway and attempted to make contact with a man in the home who they believed was armed.

After a standoff, the suspect was fatally shot by a sheriff’s office employee.

The sheriff’s office found a second deceased man in the home.
