Get ready for scattered rain/snow showers over the next 24 hours. A cold night and day with breezy winds are expected through Tuesday. More sunshine and a big warm-up begins Wednesday.



We start this work week with unseasonably cool temperatures, breezy winds and isolated rain/snow showers. Several changes to our weather pattern are coming, with more sunshine and a strong warming trend. Temperatures were 2° to 10° warmer than 24 hours ago, with highs mostly in the 50s and a few 40s/60s. This puts us well below normal (average Bend 64/35 | Redmond 65/35) for the beginning of May.

In the next days:

Our active weather pattern will come to an end and the chance of rain will end as it clears. Tuesday will be our transition day. Winds will be gusty at times, with clouds moving in and out and lingering rain/snow showers before clearing overnight.

More sunshine is expected with a few light clouds each day and a warming trend starting Wednesday. Temperatures will rise above 60° to 70°, with no rain in sight on Thursday/Friday, it will be warmer over the weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued one Note on winter weather for the eastern slopes of the Cascades until 11 p.m. Monday:

– Expect an additional 3 to 7 inches of snowfall accumulation above 4,500 feet. At lower altitudes, light wind speeds of up to 72 km/h are possible.

Overnight temperatures will be colder, with a few rain/snow showers. The wind will be breezy at times, with clear patches. Low temperatures will be mostly in the 30s and a few 20s, and winds will be southwest at 2-12 mph.

Tuesday will be partly cloudy, with clouds moving in and out and breezy, which may become gusty at times. Some lingering snow/rain showers are expected and the chance of rain will end as it clears overnight. Highs will be in the 50s with a few 40s while winds will shift northwest at 10-20 mph with gusts over 35 degrees.

Wednesday brings lots of sunshine and our warming trend begins. Highs will be in the 50s and 60s with breezy winds blowing north at 5-15 mph (G20+).

With more sunshine, some incoming and outgoing clouds are expected each day as temperatures climb into the low 60s and around 50s on Wednesday. Warming will continue Thursday and Friday with highs reaching well into the 70s, and temperatures are expected to be in the 80s this weekend.
