20 years in prison for the rape of a 10-year-old girl

The special court for POCSO cases has awarded 20 years’ imprisonment to a person who sexually abused a 10-year-old girl

According to the prosecution, C. Sri Rengan, 45, of Thoppu Street in Muthaiahpuram sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl in 2020. Based on the victim’s mother’s complaint, Sri Rengan was placed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act by the Thoothukudi All Women Police.

Special court for POCSO cases judge Suresh on Thursday sentenced Sri Rengan to 20 years in prison and a fine of Rs 7,000.
