Freshman defender arrested in Georgia traffic accident

Incidents with police involving Florida football players since then have been mostly minimal Billy Napier arrived in the city. Walk-on Wide Receiver Brian Green Jr. was charged with assault in April, but other than that, the Gators’ offseason was quiet as far as legal issues go.

Yesterday, however, it was announced that another member of the Florida team had come into conflict with the law.

As first reported by Steve Reece of Reporter from Monroe County and confirmed by Swamp247 And On 3, Michai Boireau was accused Fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, a misdemeanor count of obstructing the work of a police officer, speeding over the speed limit, reckless driving and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

According to police reports, Boireau was pursued by police after driving 86 miles per hour on I-75. When police attempted to stop Boireau, he accelerated to 150 miles per hour. During the pursuit, he struck another driver and was eventually arrested and released on $60,000 bail.

Boireau was a three-star prospect who originally committed to Florida in June 2023. The Hampton, GA native left the Gators in September 2023 and took a visit to Georgia that same month. He eventually came back, recommitted to the Gators in December and signed on National Signing Day.

Boireau enrolled early and participated in the Gators’ spring camp.
