REPORT: Penn State Basketball schedule Buffalo for 2024-25 season

Penn State’s next basketball season won’t begin for another six months, but news continues to trickle in regarding their future opponents, as CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein reported last weekend that the Nittany Lions would plan a date at home with the Buffalo. Sunday December 1st.

This is the third news reported regarding non-conference scheduling, and the first that is not at a neutral site, such as games against Virginia Tech in Baltimore and a trip to Daytona Beach for two games in the Sunburn had already been reported. Additionally, PSU learned last week who its Big Ten opponents (home, away and home) will be for next season.

This will be the third meeting between the Lions and Bulls, with the last meeting taking place nearly 20 years ago, when Buffalo defeated PSU 72-70 in State College on Dec. 21, 2004. PSU came out winner of the year. before that, winning 67-64 at Buffalo on November 29, 2003.

The Bulls are coming off a very forgettable 4-27 (2-16 in MAC) season last year, in which their former head coach was replaced by Villanova assistant coach George Halcovage. The upcoming season will mark Halcovage’s first time as head coach.
