Shawnee Police respond to a car accident involving a pedestrian

SHAWNEE, Kan. (KCTV) – One person was taken to an area hospital after being hit by a car Tuesday morning.

Shawnee Police were dispatched to the area of ​​W 75th Street and Nieman Road around 10:50 a.m. for reports of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital in serious but stable condition, the SPD reported. The driver remained on scene to speak with officers.

The Shawnee Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the incident. Initial witness statements indicate that the pedestrian was not in a zebra crossing when he was hit.
