One person was found dead after authorities responded to reports of a shooting and knife attack near a subway station in East Hollywood.

EAST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KABC) — One person was found dead after police and fire paramedics responded to reports of a shooting and knife attack near a subway station in East Hollywood on Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Few details were available about the incident, which was reported at 9:10 a.m. in the 1500 block of North Vermont Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters were dispatched to the scene in response to a call from two patients — one was reportedly shot and the other was stabbed, an LAFD spokesman said.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to a report that a person was unconscious and not breathing after a shooting.

The fire department spokesman said no one was transported to a hospital. Video from AIR7 HD showed a canopy on a sidewalk near the intersection of Vermont Avenue and Sunset Boulevard.

The deceased person could not initially be identified.

It was unclear whether a suspect was at large in connection with the shooting.
