Class 10 Girl Raped in Public School Classroom in Eluru, AP, 5 Arrested

A tenth grade student was allegedly raped by her classmate in a classroom of a government high school in the city in Eluru district.

Four other defendants who followed them are said to have filmed the crime with their mobile phones.

The incident, which took place a few days ago, came to light on Wednesday when the girl’s family members lodged a complaint with the Mandavalli police.

The youth was taken into custody and the accused arrested, said Eluru District Police Commissioner D. Mary Prasanthi The Hindu on Thursday, May 23, 2024.

The four accused allegedly demanded ransom from the victim’s family and threatened to upload the videos on social media groups, Kaikalur Rural Circle inspector Krishna Kumar said.

The girl has been sent for medical examination and investigation is underway, the SP said.
