Police will not press charges against the Queensland-based NRL star accused of raping a woman, according to a report.

Police will reportedly not press charges against the football star after a woman withdrew a complaint against him, Courier Mail reports.

The State of Origin star was the subject of a Queensland Police investigation last week, a development that rocked the NRL’s Magic Round. He denies the accusation.

The player is currently under contract with one of the four NRL clubs based in Queensland.

Officials visited the star’s home last week to question him about an alleged rape.

The same source claims the NRL player and the woman were drinking heavily on the night of the alleged incident.

The woman later filed an official complaint with the police, claiming she had been digitally raped.

The player’s club was made aware of the alleged incident and reported it to the NRL Integrity Unit, a standard action when there are off-field matters involving a player contracted to his club.

The Queensland club is reportedly happy with the player’s account and insists there was no sexual assault. The club was also in dialogue with the police.

No charges have been brought against the player and he denies the allegation.
