Woman allegedly raped by childhood friend in Patna, accused at large: police

According to police, a woman was allegedly raped by her childhood friend in the Gandhi Maidan area of ​​Patna on Monday.

The accused was identified and the matter came to light after the woman lodged an FIR (first information report) at Gandhi Maidan police station on Wednesday.

According to the woman, she had come to her maternal uncle’s house at Khajekalan in Patna city from Begusarai along with her husband on May 19.

Her husband left the house and said he would be back in ten minutes. When he didn’t return, she started looking for him. Then she met her childhood friend along with another person who offered to help her find her husband.

While searching for her husband, both men took her to a room where her friend allegedly raped her.

Both men later fled, she added.

“The woman has lodged an FIR against her friend for rape,” said Gandhi Maidan police station officer Sitaram Prasad, adding that raids were underway to arrest the accused.
