Horror update for Porsche in Pune: Contractor asked driver to let his son drive; Victim’s mother calls accident ‘murder’ | Latest News India

Pune police told a local court on Wednesday that the father of the 17-year-old boy who hit and killed two technicians with his car on Sunday told his driver to give his son the keys of his Porsche Taycan whenever he asked for them.

The Porsche was found in Pune on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, without a license plate. The car was allegedly driven by a 17-year-old boy.

The lawyer of the father, a well-known construction contractor from the city of Maharashtra, had stated that he had given the car to the driver and not to the teenager.

According to police statement accessed by TOI, the driver had called the father and said that the teenager was insisting on driving the car. The man then asked the driver to sit in the seat next to him and let him drive the car.

Bail revoked for Pune accused

On Wednesday, the juvenile court revoked the 17-year-old’s bail and sent him to a juvenile home for 14 days.

Pune police have filed a review petition with the Juvenile Justice Department, urging the authorities to try him as an adult.

Police arrested the minor’s father for allowing him to drive the car without a license. He was remanded in police custody until May 24.

The boy was reportedly drunk during the accident. The Pune police have also arrested two bar owners who served alcohol to the minor. The former reportedly spent 48,000 at the bars within a few hours.

Pune victim’s mother claims ‘murder’

Two young IT professionals named Ashwini Koshta and Aneesh Awadhia, both from Madhya Pradesh, died in the accident.

Savitha Awadhiya, Aneesh Awadhiya’s mother, told NDTV that the accident could be described as murder.

“It’s the boy’s mistake, you can even call it murder, because if he hadn’t made such a big mistake, no one would have died. If only his family members had paid attention, my son would still be alive today. “This is outright murder,” she told the station.

She demanded strict punishment for the boy

“They are trying hard to save him. They are people with money and think they can save their son. But my son has died,” she said, appealing to the Maharashtra government to help her get justice, she added.
