Midland University’s assistant athletic director accused him of sexual assault

An arrest warrant has been issued for Midland University’s assistant athletic director on charges of sexually abusing a woman. The affidavit states that Steve Heimann gave the victim “an excess of sleeping pills.” At some point during the night she woke up and Heimann gave her more sleeping pills. According to court documents, the victim said she was in and out of consciousness and felt objects sticking into her. The affidavit states that later text messages revealed that Heimann had recorded the entire incident on his phone, and he claimed to have deleted the recording. The messages also revealed that Heimann admitted giving the woman sleeping pills and having her perform sexual acts on him. Heimann is wanted for first-degree sexual assault and unlawful interference without consent. The university said Heiman was placed on leave. “The alleged charges do not involve anyone associated with Midland University. Midland University takes these allegations and the safety of our campus community very seriously. Midland will have no further comment at this time.” “As the legal process develops,” the school said in a statement. Click here for the latest headlines from KETV NewsWatch 7
