Lamar CISD school closings: Randle High and Gray Elementary have been closed due to domestic violence investigations, the district said

RICHMOND, Texas (KTRK) – Two Lamar Consolidated Independent School District campuses were closed for two days due to a domestic violence case.

On Wednesday, Randle High School and Gray Elementary School, located 2.4 miles apart, asked students and staff to stay home as a county investigation was underway.

So far, Eyewitness News has hit a brick wall in its attempt to obtain information.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office confirms that an investigation into an “isolated incident” related to the school closings is ongoing.

The school district told ABC13 that both school campuses have been closed for the past two days to ensure student safety.

The sheriff’s office said there is no danger to the general public but did not provide further details.

School district officials said they decided to close the two schools due to an active investigation and the fact that a person of interest was missing.

It is unclear whether both schools will remain closed on Thursday, the last day of school.

Eyewitness News understands that parents have contacted ABC13 with their concerns, but at this time the district and police will only release that information, citing the ongoing investigation.
