Morbidly obese Texas “redneck babe” stands trial for raping a 12-year-old male relative and then bragged about it to neighbors: She’s also accused of “murdering” a man while out on bail

A morbidly obese Texas woman was on trial for the rape of her 12-year-old male relative and is also accused of stabbing a man to death while out on bail.

Brittany Ann Rouleau, 38, faces life in prison for aggravated sexual assault of a child and prohibited sexual conduct with a relative.

The 38-year-old is also accused of murdering 57-year-old Kenneth Douglas, who suffered a single stab wound to the heart, according to preliminary autopsy reports.

Testimony began on Wednesday before a jury of nine men and three women – with the prosecution, chaired by Chelsea Carlton, informing the jury it would be a “tough” trial.

According to Carlton, Rouleau and the victim, who is now a senior in high school, had a happy relationship during his early childhood.

However, after a traumatic family event, the Rouleau home was no longer a safe place. Rouleau is accused of sexually abusing the boy in 2018, when he was 12 years old, Texomas reported.

Rouleau’s defense, led by public defender Lee Ann Marsh, painted a different version of events, claiming that the 38-year-old was actually the victim of the sexual assault.

Marsh said the incident occurred after Rouleau and the victim got into an argument and said the 12-year-old sexually assaulted Rouleau while she was unconscious after the altercation.

Carlton called the alleged victim to the stand shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday. The now 18-year-old said Rouleau treated her like a friend and asked him to cuddle with her when he was just 11 or 12 years old.

The alleged victim subsequently described in detail several instances of sexual acts between him and Rouleau. He stated that he did not want to take part in these incidents and that he had a bad feeling afterward.

Rouleau’s former neighbor was also called to the stand as a witness and revealed shocking details about the alleged abuse.

Brandy Winfrey, the former neighbor, testified that Rouleau was lost and visibly upset when she and Rouleau drove to the food bank together in 2020.

Winfrey revealed that Rouleau told her that she had sex with the victim when he was 12 years old and confessed that this happened several times.

Although Winfrey didn’t believe Rouleau at first, she called child protective services to report her.

During cross-examination, Marsh questioned Winfrey about her past drug use and she revealed that when she met Rouleau, she was on probation for drug possession.

Winfrey was sure that Rouleau was “high” when she told her about the sexual abuse of her 12-year-old relative.

Another witness called to the stand was Robert Welch, a detective with the Wichita Falls Police Department.

Welch testified about the victim’s initial forensic interview, which took place in September 2020, as well as his investigation into allegations of sexual abuse by Rouleau.

The detective testified that he was unable to collect physical evidence because too much time had passed between the alleged abuse incident and the forensic interview.

According to Rouleau’s social media accounts, she is a “Countrybumpkin” and a “Real RedNeck Babe.”

Her Facebook account suggests that she was in a relationship with Douglas before the stabbing. On March 22, 2022, Douglas updated his relationship status on the social network to “in a relationship with Brittany Ann.”
