Pedestrian in San Angelo dead after being struck by a vehicle reversing

According to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, a pedestrian in San Angelo died after being hit by a car.

The incident occurred around 10 a.m. Wednesday near 9500 South York Road in Tom Green County.

According to preliminary investigations, 40-year-old Cody Brazeal was driving a 2006 Mack tanker truck.

“While the driver (Brazeal) was performing a work-related function, he accidentally backed over the pedestrian at the scene of the accident,” the release states.

Robert Stevens, 63, was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Susan Werner, the release said. Brazeal was uninjured.

Road and weather conditions were dry and clear.
