Weather of the first warning: Yellow warning ended – much calmer weather returns

The storms, which raged through Wednesday afternoon, resulted in power outages and a handful of damage reports in the Finger Lakes. These include a tree on a home in Penn Yan and a tree on a porch in Phelps. The threat of storms will decrease significantly overnight and by Thursday we will experience much calmer weather with clear skies and more pleasant air and humidity levels. Friday looks beautiful with sunshine and mild air.

The holiday weekend will be a mixed bag, with some showers or thunderstorms later on Saturday, while Sunday looks nice and dry. There’s still some rain in the forecast for Memorial Day itself, but it shouldn’t be a washout at this point. Still, we could see some thunderstorms, so keep an eye on the timing of rain and thunderstorms over the weekend.
