The report of an attack on a woman in Muskegon Co. is false

MUSKEGON, Mich. – Information is circulating about a suspected attack at a park in Muskegon County. The police clarify the facts.

Muskegon County Sheriff’s deputies were called to Mullally Park in Laketon Township around 8 p.m. Tuesday, where they met the woman, who called first responders.

According to police, there were several people nearby as a sporting event was taking place. When officers questioned her, they did not hear a scream or a cry for help.

Officers later contacted the woman who claimed the assault had occurred. Investigations revealed that the woman had fabricated the incident, police said.

There is currently no danger to the public.
