Little Rock police identify the victim killed in Tuesday night’s shooting

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock police have identified the man who died in a shooting from the Big Country Chateau apartment complex Tuesday night.

Little Rock police officials said 32-year-old Akeem Broadway died of gunshot wounds at an area hospital.


Authorities said patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting around 7:40 p.m. and found Broadway suffering from gunshot wounds. Medical personnel then arrived at the scene to take Broadway to the hospital, where he later died.

Broadway’s body was taken by the Pulaski County Coroner to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy.

Department officials said homicide investigators and the crime scene unit arrived at the scene of the shooting to begin the investigation, search for surveillance video and speak with witnesses.

On Wednesday, Little Rock police released images of a suspect involved in the shooting. In the images, the suspect appears to be wearing a light-colored hoodie and dark pants.

Authorities said the investigation into this shooting is still ongoing. Officials with the Little Rock Police Department are asking anyone with information about this shooting to contact the Major Crimes Unit.
