Mumbai: Minor accused in alleged rape and pregnancy of elder sister

Mumbai: A 13-year-old boy was booked on Sunday for allegedly raping and impregnating his 15-year-old elder sister. When the parents went to Vashi General Hospital to terminate their daughter’s three-month pregnancy, the hospital lodged a medical complaint following which the police booked the son.

The girl told police in a statement that she became pregnant after watching porn with her younger brother. According to a police officer involved in the investigation, they tried to have sex for the first time in December last year but were unsuccessful.

“But the following month (January), the boy allegedly raped her even though she asked him to. The matter was finally brought to the notice of the mother after the victim missed her monthly cycle,” the official said.

Sections 376 (rape) and 376(2)(n) (repeated rape of the same woman) of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 4, 6, 8 and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act were invoked against the child accuse. The boy’s case has been forwarded to Khandeshwar police and the Child Protection Commission will decide the next steps.

Another disturbing incident took place in UP’s Ghaziabad:

Two brothers were arrested by Ghaziabad police on Monday in connection with another horrific incident involving the alleged rape of their 14-year-old sister. According to police, the young girl’s mother took her to a diagnostic institute in Delhi for an ultrasound scan on Saturday after she complained of stomach pain. Police said it was confirmed here that the girl was 22 weeks pregnant.
