A man has been arrested for shooting a 19-year-old during a fight on the North Side, according to San Antonio police

SAN ANTONIO — A 42-year-old man was arrested for shooting a 19-year-old during a fight on the North Side last week, according to San Antonio police.

Victor Castro-Aponte is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and failure to identify himself to a peace officer.

The shooting happened just after noon Wednesday in the 6900 block of San Pedro Avenue.

San Antonio police said the two men had a physical argument and Castro-Aponte left the scene in a vehicle. He returned on foot and shot the 19-year-old from behind, police said.

Castro-Aponte fled and the teen was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Castro-Aponte was arrested on Saturday. Records show his preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 4.
