Fierce crash in Fremont leaves 1 dead and busy road closed – NBC Bay Area

A fiery accident early Tuesday morning left one person dead and a busy Fremont road closed for several hours, according to fire officials.

At about 12:40 p.m., Fremont police and firefighters responded to a “serious collision” on Fremont Boulevard near Thornton Avenue, police said. Video footage from the scene showed a vehicle engulfed in flames.

According to the fire department, one person was confirmed dead and a second occupant in the vehicle was injured.

Fremont Boulevard between Thornton Avenue and Peralta Boulevard was closed while police investigated the crash.
