UPDATE: ARREST AFTER SHOOTING IN SEDALIA | KMMO

Police have arrested Jonathan Parkhurst following Sunday’s shooting incident on Sadie Lane in Sedalia. Parkhurst is now charged with first-degree assault, armed criminal action and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon. An arrest warrant was issued Monday, setting bail at $250,000. After his arrest on Sunday, he was held for 24 hours pending a court date.

Officers responded to a domestic disturbance call at the Sadie Lane apartment around 5:18 p.m. Sunday, where Parkhurst was reportedly intoxicated. When they arrived, officers spoke to a woman in the apartment who said she was walking him to the door. Parkhurst allegedly fired several shots at the officers, causing them to take cover. The standoff continued as more shots were fired, allegedly aimed at police. Parkhurst allegedly made incomprehensible statements during the altercation and at one point pointed the gun at the woman.

Law enforcement eventually persuaded Parkhurst to surrender after seeking shelter in a nearby wooded area. Searches of the residence by the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office found shell casings and several firearms.
