Suspected car burglary leads to fatal shooting, Atlanta police say

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – One person is dead and three others are seriously injured after a shooting Monday evening in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward neighborhood. Police say this all happened after an attempted car break-in.

The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Auburn Avenue. Atlanta police said a man was walking to his car when he saw three men trying to break into his car. He confronted the men and that’s when several shots were fired.

Police said the man killed in the shooting was one of the men who allegedly tried to break into the man’s red Cadillac. The other three men, including the car’s owner, were all rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown, but police describe their condition as “stable.”
