UP: Three teenagers charged with raping and beating 10-year-old boy

Bareilly (UP), May 21 Three teenagers have been accused of raping and beating a 10-year-old boy who was herding buffaloes in Shahjahanpur town of Uttar Pradesh.

An FIR was filed under IPC sections 377 (unnatural offences) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The boy reportedly returned home with a broken hand after the incident on Saturday, but did not inform his family about the alleged rape.

During the treatment, he complained of severe pain and finally revealed the truth after his grandfather questioned him.

The family later contacted the police and also filed a complaint.

SSP Shahjahanpur Ashok Kumar Meena said all three accused named in the FIR are minors.

“They have been traced and we are taking necessary measures and will send them to youth homes. The statement of the survivor has been recorded and the investigation will be completed soon,” he said.

He said that district officer (city) Saumya Pandey is investigating the case.
