According to a Dayton Police spokesman, the department is working on building a new patrol station on the west side.

The new building would be near the Wright Brothers aircraft factory site and the West Branch of the library.

The total cost has not yet been determined, but the new building is budgeted at $5.5 million, a Dayton police spokesperson told News Center 7’s Cheryl McHenry.

The department is also working on renovating the Helena Street station, at an estimated cost of $4 million.

They hope to have both projects completed by the end of 2025.
