A City Hall employee suspended for inappropriate behavior during an FBI investigation into Mayor Eric Adams’ campaign fundraising is cooperating with the government, sources confirmed to The Post.

The Adams employee who turned against her boss was identified by sources as Rana Abbasova, whose home was raided by the FBI as part of the federal corruption investigation into the mayor’s 2021 campaign.

After a raid on Abbasova’s New Jersey home in November 2023, sources say she asked her colleagues at City Hall to delete texts, which led to her suspension.

The “inappropriate” behavior was reported to the government and City Hall placed her on leave.

Federal investigators then obtained a court order to retrieve Adams’ mobile devices to determine whether he had also received messages from Abbasova.

The mayor has received no message, the source said.

It is unclear when Abbasova – the director of protocol in the Office of International Affairs – began working with the FBI and what information she may have shared.

The FBI is investigating whether Adams’ team colluded with the Turkish government to boost his campaign with foreign donations and whether he pressured the FDNY to expedite approvals for a new Turkish consulate that had failed previous security inspections.

Neither Adams, Abbasova nor any member of his campaign have been accused of wrongdoing.

Sources said Abbasova, whose salary is listed at $80,651, handled pre-planning and logistics for mayoral events as part of her role.

The Azerbaijani native also worked for Adams when he was Brooklyn Borough President and served as a liaison between him and the Turkish community.

City Hall declined to comment, citing questions about the mayor’s 2021 campaign.

Brendan McGuire, Adam’s former chief attorney at City Hall who is now representing him in the FBI investigation, told the New York Times that Abbasova’s cooperation was “not a new or significant development.”

“It is our understanding that Ms. Abbasova has spoken with investigators since her inappropriate behavior was reported by the administration in November,” he said in a statement, noting that the Adams administration reported her inappropriate behavior after searching her home.
