One person was struck and killed by TRAX in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY — One person was struck and killed by a TRAX train Monday evening.

UTA spokesman Carl Arky said a train struck a “pedestrian” near Ballpark Station shortly after 8 p.m. Arky said it was a northbound Green Line train that struck the person near the 1700 South railroad crossing, which is south of Ballpark Station.

The person hit suffered fatal injuries. His identity has not been revealed.

A bus bridge was constructed between Ballpark and Central Pointe stations.
