Road rage: Road rage at Nehrunagar circle: Builder, wife and friend attacked | Ahmedabad News

Ahmedabad: A violent incident took place at Nehrunagar roundabout on Saturday evening in which a group of nine assailants, including two women, brutally attacked three people, including a couple. The victims were attacked with sticks and stones, leading to a report being lodged with Ellisbridge police on Sunday. Meet Shah, a 29-year-old builder who lives in Arjun Towers on CP Nagar Road in Ghatlodia, and his wife Dhruvi Shah, who were returning home from Malav Talav area around 5 pm on Saturday to a man parked in the middle of the street, engrossed in a telephone conversation. There were also two women in the vehicle. Meet asked him not to use the phone and to move his car to the side so that it would not block the flow of traffic. However, this request enraged the man and the two women, who allegedly began verbally abusing Meet. This prompted Meet to call his friend Adit Desai to the crime scene and ask him for help. However, the situation got worse when the man in the car called two men to the scene. Soon four more men arrived in a separate car and the entire group launched a violent attack on Meet, Dhruvi and Desai. Meet told police that the attackers first hit the victims with sticks. One of the attackers then got a stone and started hitting the trio with it. Amid the chaos, Meet managed to contact the city police dispatch center, prompting a team from Ellisbridge Police to rush to the scene. But before police could arrive, the others fled the scene after making violent threats to the victims. Ellisbridge police have lodged a complaint against the nine attackers, charging them with various offenses including rioting, unlawful assembly, assault and battery, using abusive language, criminal intimidation, causing harm and abetment under IPC.
