According to the Georgia State Patrol, a Kia van was traveling north on I-75 when it left the roadway and crossed the grass median to enter the southbound lanes.

The van collided with a Chevy Tahoe and a Toyota 4Runner, which was also struck by a commercial vehicle. According to police, a Hyundai SUV also struck the rear of the Tahoe.

Three people in the van, identified as Masons and Crawford, and the 4Runner driver, identified as Odom, died at the scene. A medical helicopter airlifted the Tahoe driver. Paramedics took two children in the van and an adult and a child from the Hyundai SUV to the hospital.

Police say it is unclear at this time what caused the van to stray into the southbound lane.
