Pedestrian killed in fatal hit-and-run in Norristown, police looking for driver

Norristown police are working to locate the driver who allegedly left a pedestrian dead in the road after striking the victim Sunday evening.

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) — Norristown police are working to locate a driver after a pedestrian was reportedly left dead in the road after hitting the victim Sunday evening.

The victim’s red shoe and other items of clothing were in the middle of the street as Norristown police investigated the crime scene at Main and Astor streets.

Investigators said the driver hit the victim and left the person there just before 11 p.m. Sunday.

The police were on site for several hours overnight.

The busy intersection of Main and Markley Streets is closed while police investigate.

Police did not say whether the victim was crossing the road at the time. It is also unclear in which direction the car drove off.

Action News has asked police for additional information, including a description of the vehicle and the victim’s name.
