Catawba man arrested for sex offenses

Derick Antoni Warsop, 62, of Hudson Chapel Road in Catawba, was arrested by Catawba County Sheriff’s officers on Saturday (May 18). He is charged with sexual conduct by a surrogate parent or guardian, statutory sex offense on a child 15 years of age or younger, and indecent liberties with a child. Warsop was held without bail at the Catawba County Detention Center. A Superior Court appearance has been scheduled for today (May 20).
