One dead after vehicle and pedestrian accident in Bay Point

On Sunday at 9:23 p.m., the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a report of a vehicle-pedestrian accident in Bay Point.

The accident occurred at Willow Pass Road and Poinsettia Ave.

According to preliminary information, the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene and located a bleeding person down on the roadway. A sheriff’s deputy who arrived on scene initially began CPR and continued until firefighters arrived.

The person was pronounced dead a short time later. No further information was provided regarding the vehicle-pedestrian accident. Check back for updates. The roadway is currently closed for an investigation as of 9:50 p.m.
