Man dies in Homer moose attack, cops say

A man died in a moose attack in Homer on Sunday, Alaska State Troopers said.

The circumstances of the attack and the exact location were not immediately clear until Sunday.

According to an online statement, around 11:50 a.m., officers received a report of a man being attacked by a cow elk in Homer. Both Anchor Point medics and soldiers responded to the incident.

The man died at the scene of the accident, police said.

According to the report, the cow moose attacked two men and kicked one of them.

According to police, the moose left the area after the incident.

The investigation has not yet been completed, police said on Sunday.
