Rape: Teenager accused of raping a student under the pretext of marriage | Indore News

Indore: Bhanwarkuan police on Saturday registered a case against a youth for raping a BEd student over the promise of marriage. Following the student’s complaint, the accused Vikas, a resident of Beglaypura in Dhar district, was booked. The woman told the police that she had been staying in Indore for studies since 2017. The defendant was a senior and both were in college when they began meeting and talking. The accused came to her room where he maintained physical contact with her and promised a mutual marriage. When the girl proposed to him in December 2023, he started avoiding the topic and forced himself on her when she refused to pursue physical relations. He promised again to marry her once he got a job. Recently, she came to know that the accused was in a relationship with another girl. When she confronted him, he said he was not interested in marrying her. He also threatened her with dire consequences if she spoke about it again. He also blocked her phone number. The girl said she became depressed. She later told her family members about the incident following which a case was initiated.
